Today’s story comes from the wonderful Sake Times, which looks at a new function in the Sakenowa sake app that allows you to search by flavour.

The app lets you make notes on sake you’ve tasted, and find new ones. It has now added an intuitive new “flavour search” which lets you find sake with certain flavour profiles.

The function uses a graphical search feature that allows you to directly set the parameters you’re looking for, which means you can find new sake with a similar flavour profile to the ones you know you like. The app learns the flavour profile of each sake from user comments and commits them to a database, which is used to power the search function.

The app is available on Google Play and the Apple App Store.
